Mount Nuda (1775 m above sea level), formerly known as Mount Verruca, is part of the Mount Giovo group, Mount Rondinaio subgroup.
The grassy peak rises on the watershed between the Tagliole and Fontanacce valleys, at the culminating point of a secondary ridge that, detached from the peak of Mount Giovo, descends in a northerly direction to the Boccaia pass, to then continue in an alternation of panoramic ups and downs along the Colle Monterocchi, the Costa del Paradiso, Eolo pass (or Serracane, according to the local toponym) and the wide saddle of the Aseri spring.
The relief is made up of Macigno sandstone, whose layers are clearly visible, in compact strips that emerge like isolated slabs with curious shapes, right on the plateau of the Aseri spring.
The summit, although not very high, allows for its position to embrace with one glance panoramas that range from the Apuan Alps, to the upper Scoltenna valley and up to Cimone, Libro Aperto and Mount Gomito. From Lago Santo, Mount Nuda can be reached via the CAI 529 path up to the Boccaia pass and then continuing along the CAI 539 that passes through beautiful outcrops of red clay of Fiumalbo.
