Omo Peak

Also known as Alpe di Barga!

Cima dell'Omo, also known as Alpe di Barga as it was once frequented by shepherds from Barga during the summer, is located on the 00 ridge section that connects Lago Santo with San Pellegrino in Alpe.

Definitely one of the most beautiful ridge sections of the high Modena Apennines.

The climb is steep, especially if you climb coming from San Pellegrino, but once you reach the top your effort will be amply rewarded by the aerial views of the Serchio valley, the Fontanacce valley, the Apuan Alps and Cimone.

From the Vittoria refuge you can get there by following the CAI 529 for the Boccaia pass and the Campi d'Annibale, up to the Bruciata hill.

From here you take the 00. The climb is very steep in the first section, then before the summit it lies in a large grassy plateau.

For the return you can descend keeping the 00 to the Terzino pass (steep descent and a passage between rocks where the path is a bit narrow).

From the terzino pass you return with the low variant of the 00 on the Tuscan side to the Bruciata hill, then from here again to the Campi d'Annibale and Boccaia pass.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
